The essentials
What to know before you begin.
Renuds preparesA source-traced computation and, when available, a filing file.
You review and fileYou upload and verify the finished file on incometax.gov.in.
Review is explicitTreat a result as CA-reviewed only when its status confirms it.
Your facts matterRenuds cannot verify documents or information you do not provide.
1. What Renuds is
Renuds prepares a reconciled, auditable income tax computation for individual taxpayers. The intake accepts salary and pension, property, investments, business or professional income, F&O, virtual digital assets, foreign income or assets, and residence facts. It asks for missing facts rather than silently assuming their tax treatment. When every required fact and filing schedule is ready, the product may also generate a filing file for you to review. You upload your documents (Form 130, broker and mutual-fund statements, Form 168/AIS data, and similar), we extract the figures, compute your tax position under both the old and new regimes, and show you a line-by-line computation sheet where every number traces back to a source document or an assertion you made.
Renuds is currently operated by Aditya Dev as an individual and is being offered as a free, open pilot for taxpayers. Renuds is a brand name, not an incorporated company, Chartered Accountant firm, or e-Return Intermediary. No fee is charged during this pilot.
You accept these Terms through the acceptance step shown before your first upload. If you do not agree, do not upload documents or use the return-preparation service.
2. Who this is for
Renuds is built for individual taxpayers filing an Indian income-tax return, from a straightforward single-employer salary to property, business or professional income, investments, foreign assets and changing residence. It does not prepare GST or TDS returns. A filing file is offered only when the applicable official schema is available, every required fact is resolved and the return passes the product’s checks. Otherwise, the session identifies what is missing rather than producing an incomplete filing file.
You must be at least 18 and legally capable of entering a contract to use Renuds. The current product is designed for a taxpayer preparing their own return. Do not upload another person’s records unless you are legally authorised to act for them.
3. Computation, not advice
Everything Renuds produces, including the computation sheet, scenario comparisons (for example, how a different sale date changes your tax), and any generated filing file, is a computation, based on the documents and facts you provide. It is not legal advice, tax advice on strategy, or investment advice, and nothing in the product should be read as a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any security, or to take any particular tax position. Where a scenario shows that one course of action results in a different tax outcome, that is arithmetic, not a suggestion that you take it.
Any conversational or AI-assisted feature in the product (for example, a chat assistant) only explains or points to figures already present in your computation sheet. It never generates a tax figure on its own; every number you see is produced by the deterministic computation engine, not by a language model.
4. Chartered Accountant review
Renuds is not a firm of Chartered Accountants. Where the service expressly includes review by an independent Chartered Accountant, your computation and filing file may be available before that review is complete. If the review identifies a question or correction, it will appear in your return for you to address before filing. Do not assume that a Chartered Accountant has reviewed a result unless the product confirms that review for that return.
A Chartered Accountant’s review through Renuds is a quality check on the computation Renuds produces. It does not create a wider engagement, retainer, or advisory relationship unless you separately agree one with that Chartered Accountant or firm.
5. Filing is yours to complete
Renuds does not file your return on your behalf and is not registered as an e-Return Intermediary. We provide you with the computation and, when the applicable official format and required schedules are available, a generated filing file. You or your authorised helper are responsible for uploading that file to the Income Tax Department’s e-filing portal and verifying it, typically via Aadhaar OTP, using your own credentials. We never ask for, store, or have access to your Income Tax e-filing portal password.
You are responsible for reviewing the computation and the generated filing before you submit it, for the accuracy of the facts and documents you provide, and for filing within the deadlines set by the Income Tax Department. Renuds, and any reviewing CA where expressly included, aim to produce a correct, defensible computation from what you give us, but we cannot verify facts you do not disclose or documents you do not upload.
6. Your documents and permission to process them
You retain your rights in the documents and information you provide. You give Renuds a limited permission to host, copy, extract, transform, and share that information with the service providers and authorised reviewers described in the Privacy notice, only as needed to provide, secure, and support your return service and to comply with law. This permission ends when the information is deleted, except for records that must be retained for a legal obligation or claim.
You confirm that the documents and facts you provide are accurate to the best of your knowledge and that you have the right to provide them. Renuds does not claim ownership of your documents.
7. Accuracy, limitations, and liability
We build Renuds to a high correctness bar: deterministic arithmetic, source-traced figures and consistency checks, with independent CA review only where the service expressly includes and confirms it. But tax law is complex, and Tax Year 2026-27 is the first season under a newly enacted statute with limited settled interpretation. Where the law is genuinely ambiguous, we say so rather than guessing and, where the service includes CA review, route the question to that reviewer. Even so, no computation service, including this one, can guarantee that the Income Tax Department will never raise a query or notice about a return.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Renuds is not responsible for indirect or consequential loss caused by facts you did not disclose, documents you did not provide, or deadlines you missed. Any limit or exclusion in these Terms applies only to the extent it is fair and lawful in the circumstances. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits a remedy or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 and liability arising from fraud, gross negligence, wilful misconduct, or a failure to protect personal data as required by law.
8. When paid features are introduced
Where payment is enabled for a feature, the price will be shown before you pay, and no amount is charged until you confirm. Payments are processed by Razorpay; we do not store your card, UPI PIN, or bank-login credentials. Payment unlocks the downloadable files described at checkout for that return.
Because the computation is produced before checkout and the digital downloads are made available after payment confirmation, there is ordinarily no separate cancellation period after delivery. We will provide a refund or other appropriate remedy where the paid files are unavailable, materially defective, materially different from what was described, or not supplied as agreed, and for a verified duplicate or unauthorised charge. This does not limit any remedy required by law.
To request a refund or report a payment problem, email hello@renuds.in with your session ID. Approved refunds are initiated to the original payment method within 7 working days; your bank or payment provider may take additional time to credit the amount.
Nothing in this section removes any cancellation, refund, chargeback, or consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded.
9. Your data
What we collect, how long we keep it, and how you can have it deleted is set out in full in our Privacy & data retention page, which forms part of these Terms.
If you have a privacy or service complaint, use our privacy and grievance contact at privacy@renuds.in. Our current service target is to acknowledge complaints within 48 hours and resolve them within 30 days.
10. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- upload documents or provide facts you know to be false or belonging to someone else without their authorisation;
- attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorised access to the service or other users’ sessions;
- use the service to prepare a return for any purpose other than your own genuine tax filing; or
- resell or redistribute the service without our written agreement.
We may suspend or terminate access to a session that we reasonably believe violates these Terms, or that we believe is fraudulent or abusive.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time, principally to reflect changes in tax law, the department’s filing requirements, or the product itself. We will update the effective date above when we do. If a change materially affects your rights or how we process your information, we will show the revised terms and ask you to accept them before a new upload. If you do not agree with a change, you should stop using the service and may request deletion of your data as described in our Privacy notice.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the service may be brought before a court or consumer forum with jurisdiction under applicable law.
